Q: If Life Plus has been working for more than a half century, why did they not come to Europe before ?

A: They were originally called VM Nutri Inc. They supplied pharmaceutical and clinical grade products to licensed specialists and pharmacists. They were subsequently purchased by their current President, Robert Lemon PhD in 1972. In 1992 he added another department called Life Plus to supply the final consumer directly and introduced this new referral based marketing system. Initially, they only worked in the USA but later in 1996 opened their European headquarters in Great Britain.


Q: How is Life Plus organised in Europe?

A: All products are supplied directly to the final consumer by the British office. There are 3 methods of delivery; regular airmail, registered airmail, or TNT courier. The TNT service costs considerably more but delivery is in 48 hours and the cost can be lowered by placing group orders to one single address. This is not advisable for Croatia at the because import taxes  amount to 65%. Slovenia is also adversely affected by customs policy and we would advise people in these two countries to use the postal services only. People working with us are paid by cheque monthly from the American office in US dollars (although payment in UK sterling can be requested).


Q: I understand that 2 of the products were made by scientists, which ones? An award was given to one of these scientists. Who was it, when, and by who?

A: His name is Dr. Peter Pugliese. The Maison G. de Navarre award was presented to him by the Society of Cosmetic Chemists for a product called Forever Young tablets. He has just launched many more products that are set to make a significant mark on the cosmetics industry. As always, they are only available from Life Plus.

One other scientist was Prof. Jacques Masquelier, the creator of Proanthenols following his discovery of OligomericProanthoCyanadins (OPC-85). Yet again, his original formula is exclusive to Life Plus.

The third was Dr. John Marshall who was behind all the research and development of the Slender Now weight management range, in particular Phase 'O Lean Forte (see book "Have your bread and eat it")

Of course, all the products were created by scientists at some point or other but the above 3 were very notable.


Q: What is the connection between wholesale prices and CV ?

A: The prices in America are slightly lower than those in Europe due to the cost of shipping. Only countries outside Europe can buy from the USA. Europeans buy from the UK and Australians/Japanese buy from Australia. The price list shows 2 prices; the first being the CV (commissionable value) and the second being the wholesale price. Everyone buys at wholesale because there are no distributors in between the client and the company. The company supplies everyone themselves and we just find the clients by recommending the products we are using.


Q: How does the CV system work?

A. Every product you buy and anyone else buys has a CV value and provided you have purchased L30 of CV in a month, you can be paid commissions. The CV value is the sum used to calculate our monthly qualifications and our monthly paycheque (commissions). If you purchase a CV value of L70 of products in a month, you can obtain much more, especially if you use the ASAP program.


Q: What is the FasTrack?

A: The FasTrack is a system that provides a good income together with a new car after 6 months if you have achieved the volume required. You can download and print the details of the FasTrack from the website. It is a wonderful system to earn significant income quickly but it does require a one-off investment of L262 (800Dm) to include shipping and taxes. There is no obligation to take it and you can decide to take it at any time you wish. Experience has shown that the key motivation of people purchasing the FasTrack is the car they can receive after 6 months.


Q: "CV's are not available in Florida, Europe, and will not be available in other states where prohibited by law.." Why are they prohibited by law?

A: Life Plus International does not allow the use of CV Certificates in the state of Florida because this issue has been specifically addressed by the Florida State Legislature, its governing body. Basically, it views the use of certificates by multi-level marketing organisations as a pyramid scheme. This is very likely due to the fact that there is a large percentage of the Florida population that are elderly and retired. As such, they are seen as targets for unscrupulous operators and scams. In order to reduce the likelihood of fraud, Florida has disallowed the use of certificates in place of products or services.

Although legal in Europe, CV certificates are no longer sold to avoid possible confusion with money tokens which are illegal in the UK.

Q: How does Life Plus calculate Taxes, Handling Fees, Shipping fees - TNT, Air mail?

A: Take for example Alko-Mar. The product costs L13.20 to which must be added a L1 handling fee, and shipping of L0.80 bringing us to a total of L15. The shipping charge was uninsured postal costs for 1 product only. As the weight increases, so does the shipping. if you want the package insured, it costs L3 more. No TAX/VAT is charged on orders going outside of the EU as you are required to pay your own countries import taxes when the goods arrive. TNT delivery is fast and excellent value if 3 or more people have their goods delivered to the same address. The shared cost makes it much cheaper than the post. You can opt for postal services which are cheap if uninsured, but cost L3 more if insured. The insured service costs more but is much safer. Eastern Europe comes into TNT zone 6 (expensive!) and customs officials often interfere with packages delivered by courier services which can entail unduly high import taxes so we would not advise using this service in eastern Europe, but the airmail prices are excellent. Generally, we advise everyone to use the insured airmail however, Life Plus inform us that the uninsured airmail service is quite reliable into eastern Europe although we have experienced 3 losses in 9 months.


Q: Which products and samples are in the FasTrack Business pack?

A: The FasTrack contains ten of the most popular selling products. These are:

  1. Colodyne (for detoxifying the intestine and colon. This has often solved constipation and stomach pain problems)

  2. MSM Plus (this assists problems with the liver and can assist in resolving skin afflictions like dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis)

Q: In the FasTrack Business pack there is a "Training Certificate worth L15 toward the registration fee at any Company sanctioned Regional Training Sessions"-  How much for the Freshman Step, Sophomore Step, Junior Step, Senior Step, Post Graduate?

A: The European version contains a certificate for L15. Regional training's cost L25 and last for 2 days. At present there are no such training's outside England. The certificate can also be used at any American event. The Freshman Step, Sophomore Step, Junior Step, Senior Step, and Post Graduate are all phases that you win with Life Plus as you evolve in the business. The company pays for them. They involve 3 days of training for you and your spouse. You cannot participate in the steps unless you purchased a FasTrack pack before reaching "Gold". On an annual basis, the company holds large 3 day conventions which are not just informative but also very exciting and offer the possibility to mix with your entire upline and successful Diamonds.


Q: All goods entering Europe must have a declaration, exporter, importer, expiry date, and food or nutrition supplements must go through special tests in laboratories to get the required approvals to go on the market. Do Life Plus have all this?

A: The goods do arrive with customs declarations together with full company details. There is no law pertaining to expiry dates of non-perishable food products, but it is generally the case that products of this kind do have this information. In America, this is not the case and at this moment in time, only a few of the products have expiry dates. Instead they carry manufacturing dates and expiry dates in the form of barcodes but this will change during 1999 because Europeans want expiry dates and labels in their own languages. Life Plus have 'Free Sale' certificates for the whole of Europe and the nature of their business means that they do not need importers. All products are personally imported by clients directly from the UK for personal consumption only. Nothing is for resale in any country. Therefore, no product authorisation is required and the business is 100% legal.


Q: What is the purpose of the "Sponsor Designation Option"?

A: FasTrack users have a turbocharged method of getting to the top of the business. To get your car, you need to have 3 separate lines sponsored with at least L3,500 of sales volume in each line in one month. The sponsor designation option allows you to force that volume by moving people from other lines into the lines that are missing the volume required.


Q: How does Life Plus rank against other companies like AMWAY, Assured Nutrition Plus, Nutrition For Life, Golden, and similar?

A: The 2 top American MLM magazines did a report on over a thousand network marketing companies in January '98. They put Life Plus in the 12 companies selected as being the best in the business. They were judged on products, professionalism of management, training tools and facilities, payplan, and risk factor. In April of 1998, the Direct Sales Association (DSA) in Great Britain voted Life Plus as the best new business opportunity to enter the UK in 1998. It should be understood that other companies offer good opportunities as well. Our mission is not to badmouth other companies nor to compare our opportunity. If a prospective member wishes to make comparisons himself, then that is his choice but we should in no way advocate this as a normal business practice to entice new members to join us.


Q: Why should anyone insure packages?

A: Postal services cost less if uninsured. It costs L3 more to insure them. In the case where a package gets lost, the company can trace it if it was registered/insured. If after 3 months, it has not been recovered, they send you another one and claim the money back from the Royal Mail. You do nothing. If it was uninsured, you lose everything.


Q: I understand there is a possibility to order 6 of any one product, at any time and get one extra for free.

A: True.


Q: It is also possible to buy 4 and get 1 free, BUT this only applies to products which are declared as monthly specials?

A: Yes, these products are printed on the last page of the Business Achievers Journal which comes with the pay statement of active business builders each month. An extra benefit offered to MAQ (aka ASAP) members is the opportunity to purchase 3 products featured in the monthly specials and receive the 4th for nothing. You can get this information on the Life Plus official website where is it is featured as "Monthly Specials".


Q: Are the specials featured on the magazine applicable to all countries?

A: No. They are only applicable to American members however, often the European specials are the same. Europeans are able to get their specials by fax-on-demand or by calling the European office. This information is also available on our website (International Resources) and in our French/Italian monthly newsletter "INFO-NEWS".


Q: How are transport charges calculated for the extra product?

A: Life Plus charges shipping costs on actual weight i.e. all 4 or 7.


Q: How could a new member get more information about Life Plus when first starting out?

A: To begin with, there is the Life Plus Company Information Pack (Product Number 6011) which contains a company video, 2 audio tapes, individual product brochures and a general catalogue. It costs L10 and is highly recommended (available in English only). Then there is this website which is packed with everything the new member would need to know. Perhaps the best tool available would be the Disk of Life however, we at International Resources will soon be launching a New Members interactive electronic workbook which is designed to take the new recruit through the first 90 days in the business.


Q: Can we use testimonials from other members?

A: Yes, BUT testimonials in the eyes of the law are considered as product efficiency claims. No health product may be marketed with testimonials anymore. The law changed at the end of last year. We cannot use brochures which give the impression that you can be cured of certain illnesses by using the products. While some people may experience cure, we cannot guarantee this and we may not in any circumstances put this into writing. People can give their personal testimonials verbally and they will be considered as personal experiences.


Q: How do I actually start my business with Life Plus?

A: Getting started is a simple procedure. We all start by writing a list of names without prejudging who we think will be interested or not. The longer the list, the more possibilities you have of sponsoring. One of the best tools we have in this business is the enormous potential offered by the health sector; there is nobody on the planet who will not at some time in their life become sick and nobody likes it either. It is one of our foremost priorities and when we know someone who is already troubled by something, for them it is their utmost priority to solve it! Therefore your list should contain as many people as you know who are not in perfect health. To help you, we have ready made lists available at no cost.

Once we have a list of names, we need to contact these people. We start locally so that we can see them. We never expose the business over the phone even if we are speaking to other business men. Our aim is none other than to get an appointment to show what we have got, therefore the conversation should be limited to 2 minutes maximum. There are many things you can say but here are some guidelines:

1) TO SOMEONE YOU THINK MAY BE INTERESTED IN THE BUSINESS:

Hello ......., this is David. Listen, I've just discovered an incredible new business and I thought of you immediately because I think that this is something we can do together!

His/her reply: What is it?

It is with a manufacturer of health products called Life Plus. Have you heard of them?

His/her reply: No...

Well I did say it was new. When can we get together so that I can show you what it is all about? (Set appointment)

2) TO SOMEONE YOU KNOW THAT IS NOT IN GOOD HEALTH:

Hello ......., David here. How are you? And the wife? I'm pleased to hear that. Listen, if I remember correctly you were suffering from ..... how is that now?

Their reply: Well its still there but I'm getting along all the same. Why do you ask?

I was talking to a friend from England yesterday and he introduced me to a company he is working with. They are specialised in unique natural health formulas. While he was explaining some of the products to me, I immediately thought of you because they have something that may be the answer you have been looking for. Would you like to take a look at the catalog he left me?

3) TO SOMEONE WHO NEEDS TO EARN MORE MONEY:

Hello ......., David here. Listen, I remember you said that times were a bit tough. Obviously like everyone, you could do with some more money?

His/her reply: Well of course, but what have you got in mind?

Let me put it this way; if I could show you something completely new that you could run alongside what you are already doing which could increase your existing income by 25% immediately, could that be of interest?

His/her reply: Do I have to invest money?

No, and that is exactly the reason why I thought we should talk now! When can we get together so that I can explain what this is all about?

Once you have gotten the appointment, you only need to answer the following 5 questions for someone to make a decision as to whether they will join you. Exposing the products is essential because people are very attracted to the products and if they buy product, they are in your network anyway!!! THE FIVE QUESTIONS THAT MUST BE ANSWERED:

1. WHO IS THE COMPANY? Give them a brief background to Life Plus.

2. WHAT DO THEY DO? Tell them about some of the products, especially those that may be pertinent to any problem the person in front of you may have. Underline that the products are natural and have no side effects.

3. WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO? Explain how we don't sell products but we can recommend them to people who need them or we can offer an opportunity to make money to anyone needing that.

4. WILL I GET HELP? Tell them how we do this together and that they will be trained by you and your upline continuously.

5. WHAT WILL I GET IF I DO IT? Explain the payplan without going into the depths of the infinity bonus because you don't want to confuse them. MAQ is obviously the most important and L30 ASAP is death so show the benefits of being on L70 ASAP. Leave the FastTrack to 2 lines only; it is a system created for serious business builders which provides a very significant income and a new car after a 6 month probation period. That is enough to get them to ask you more if they consider they are serious about the business.

Q: Life Plus gives a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. How does this function and who pays for the return postage?

A: Life Plus will exchange product or reimburse the client directly. The product must be returned to them with a letter (in English) clearly stating the reason for dissatisfaction. For goods that have been returned, all commissions previously paid out will be deducted from the following month's cheque (this applies to all the upline concerned).


Q: Ok, but what happens with goods we sell to an end-user?

A: In this case, you are the client. If your client wants his money back, you will have to give it to him in exchange for the used product and then do a warranty claim yourself but you can only request a product exchange. Please remember that you are a member buying for your own consumption only. You may not retail these products. If however, you procure a product on behalf of someone else at the same price you have paid, this is not a sale.


Q: Can I buy a badge/pin with the LP logo?

A: No. All badges/pins are symbols of achievement and have to be earned by helping others in your organisation.


Q: How about flags, stickers, pens with the logo? Are there rules you have to follow about making these things if they do not already exist?

A: If it is available, it should be on the literature price list. Otherwise, we are not authorised to make any of these things ourselves. If you have some ideas about this, you have to submit your ideas to the company for authorisation. This is not advisable until you have proven to them that you are a good business builder.


Q: What should I prepare for guests coming to my house for Life Plus meetings? Some drinks, copies of brochures?

A: Not unless you want to. If you have to buy drinks for the guests every time you do one of these, it will become an expensive business. If they are personal friends, you may feel it is your obligation to do so. Brochures can become expensive if you give them to someone who isn't really interested as they will put it in the dustbin as soon as they are out of your sight. Giving brochures is paramount to the success of your business but I would recommend you to give them only to those people who have asked for one.


Q: If I order goods in the last week of a month and pay via bank transfer which can take up to two weeks to arrive at Life Plus, will the order count for that month or will I lose the qualification and be qualified for the next month?

A: If you send Life Plus your bank confirmation by fax this will ensure your qualification. The money must arrive on their account by the 28th of the month at the latest for (ASAP members). But, the best way is to pay with a credit card as the payment is effected immediately.


Q: What kind of advertising could I use in newspapers?

A: You could use something like this:

  • English company seeks business partners connected to the Internet (English essential). Telephone/Fax. ….. for details.

  • English company seeks collaboration with masseurs, nurses, physiotherapists, hairdressers, and beauticians in towns … Please call …for further details.

  • American manufacturer requires partnership with English speaking businessman to develop new business opportunity in Eastern Europe. Please phone or fax Mr …. on number ….

  • Urgently seeking people with own car for part-time work in the following towns …….. Good English required. Tel./Fax. ……...

  • British health products company needs people aged between 35 to 75 for interesting and fun part-time work. Phone or fax on ………

Q: What should I say to people answering my ad in the newspapers?

A: Try not to give away too much information on the phone. The purpose of the phonecall is only to get an appointment. If you don't have an appointment, you cannot show them the business. The techniques used are variable and you would be best to speak with your upline. The most important is not to let them take control of the conversation by making sure that you are the one asking all the questions and to limit the amount of information you give to stop them from prejudging over the phone.


Q: How about advertising on the Internet?

A: Yes, it can be very powerful, if you use it correctly. Perhaps one of the best advantages it has is that you can advertise for free on thousand's of free classified sites (the true secrets to this can be found in our TOOLS section).


Q: How should I propose Life Plus products to people suffering from ailments or serious diseases ? I am not a doctor and Life Plus is not a medical institution?

A: Many of the management are doctors, pharmacists or have experience in this field. If we do not already have the answers to your questions, we can request the answers from Life Plus themselves. If they think we cannot help someone with Life Plus products, often they will give us the names of the correct drugs to treat the problem so that people can request such a treatment from their doctor. As far as we are concerned, our experiences using the products will give us a good idea of the capabilities of any product but we must be careful to remember that the products are only used to correct the body's nutritional imbalances and not to be used as medicines. Nobody should ever suggest that our products can replace any course of medical treatment someone may already be taking.
