: : : : : I hope somebody can answer this. I signed up for the Links2U Gold the day before yesterday. I now have 500 email messages. All of them opportunities, of course. My question is, what do I do with them?
: : : : You signed up using your real email address instead of one created just for the L2u site as they recommend. Bad news Patty! You are now a target for all their mailings. Best thing to do would be to contact their admin and ask if they can change the address you registered. First of all get yourself a web based email account with Yahoo or someone like that for all the junk to go into.
: : : : As to the 500 mails you received, bin the lot.
: : : : : BTW, the only one I really read was the only one that had in the subject line "thank you for your link". I think there's a message there. As a relative newbie to e-commerce, I was not attracted to one ad that tried to HYPE me with promises of riches, instant money or FREE anything!
: : : : : Anyway, if somebody can tell me whether I should keep these emails or delete them and what to do with 'em I'd sure appreciate it.
: : : : The downside to email is that you cannot tear it up or screw it into a ball and set fire to it but that's just about all you should be doing with that lot. There may be a valid offer in there somewhere but have you got time to read 500 mails to find it?

: : : Actually the address I used is the new OSC address, but I will go in and just delete
: : : them all. Does this mean that whatever I put
: : : out through Links2u will also do the same to
: : : my targeted audience i.e. end up in the trash?

: : Patty,
: : You will be inundated with emails for about a month, then they will taper off. The suggestion given to me was to wait until you have about 12-15,000 names you can email to prior to sending out your ad. Reasoning behind this is that all those that join after you are getting the same mass of emails and if you wait, the number that they are getting is tapering off as well. Everyone is more inclined to read an email with a great header if they are only getting 5-10 a day verses 500! Your ad will have a greater chance of exposure at that time. Best of luck!

: In my experience (and I now only mail to the list when I have at least 30,000 names), most will respond to your offer with their offer so the tip is not to use your own email address but to use Links2u's listserver. They tell you that you will get less response but what they really mean is you will get less counter offers. Extremely few will actually read your ad unless the headline is a winner. Sales will be pathetic in relation to the number of people the mail was sent to but in my opinion it is the bottom line which counts. How many sales can you make and how many Gold memberships can you accrue during your membership period? Weigh that up against your $100 fee and I think you will come away smiling. I certainly am!!!
Okay Chief. Your coattails are good ones to hang onto, so I'll just keep storing them up!
