THE
BETA-AGONIST SYSTEM
The ß (beta) agonist path is a signaling pathway in the body for a number of related
areas. Many cell surfaces, especially muscle and fat cell surfaces, contain ß receptors.
When a ß agonist (or antagonist) binds to a ß receptor site, a sequence of processes are
activated that can both induce lipolysis (the breakdown and use of stored fat for energy
production) and increase muscle metabolism. The increased muscle metabolism may facilitate
muscle cell growth.
Common ß agonists already available in the body include the
neurotransmitter catecholamines-epinephrine (Adrenaline™) and norepinephrine. These
agonists are especially released during times of stress. Other materials which can
interfere with the sequence of steps in the ß agonist process include dietary materials
such as caffeine, one of the xanthines.

Z™
Research conducted by Canadian researcher Dennis Jones, M.A., Ph.D. has led to the
development of a unique extract called Advantra Z™. Advantra Z is derived from the
Bitter Orange (Citrus aurantium) , also known to Chinese herbalists as zhi shi. At a
certain stage of maturity, zhi shi contains a rare composition of five adrenergic
(resembling Adrenaline™ or epinephrine) amines: Synephrine, Octopamine, Hordenine,
Tyramine, and N-Methyltyramine. Using proprietary harvesting and extraction techniques,
Advantra Z is unique in achieving a standardized content of at least 4 percent of these
adrenergic substances, which are important for their thermogenic potential. The interest
in Advantra Z lies in its ability to bind to a specific subgroup of the ß receptors
called the ß-3 receptors. The ß-3 receptors may increase the rate at which fat is

THERMOGENESIS
Thermogenesis is a term referring to the body's production of heat. Heat production is a
normal part of metabolic processes. At certain times, such as when exposed to cold

Shivering is an attempt by the body to create needed supplemental body heat by increasing
muscular activity. Certain nutritional substances can also stimulate thermogenesis.

source of heat and-when stimulated through appropriate dietary supplementation-a mechanism
to increase metabolic rate. Fuel for this increased metabolic rate can be provided by

XANTHINES
Xanthines are a class of thermogenic substances found in coffee, tea and certain beans.
They are also found in animal organs. The standardized extract of Guarana (Paullinia
cupana) in STIMULEAN is a rich source of the methylxanthine, caffeine, even though the
amount contained in two tablets is less than half normally contained in an average cup of
coffee.

DIRECTIONS
Take one or two tablets three times per day. Usually best taken thirty minutes before or
after breakfast, then thirty minutes before lunch and in the afternoon up to 30 minutes
