AMINO
ACIDS
REAL ENERGY incorporates selected key amino acids. Phenylalanine is important in
neurotransmission as well as possible associated actions regarding alertness, mood, and
possibly even appetite. Taurine, the most prevalent amino acid in the body, is important
in the central nervous system as well as in muscle tissue. Glycine, which the body can use
to make creatine, may play a role relative to glycogen and energy release, as well as
functions relating to the immune system and the body's making certain non-essential amino
acids. Tyrosine isan important neurotransmitter, may have a positive affect on mood, is
important to certain glands, may have an affect on appetite, is involved in skin and hair
pigment production, and may stimulate release of growth hormones, which may be helpful in
muscle growth and fat utilization. Other components include caffeine, which may play a
role as a ß (beta) agonist, and possible effects on the release and utilization of stored
body fat, as well as thermogenesis to help increase overall metabolic rate. A compliment
of vitamins and minerals round out this energy oriented formulation. REAL ENERGY may be
considered as an energy component supplement in relation to other fine Life Plus products,
including those emphasizing the valuable concepts for weight management, support of energy
or overall general nutrition.
Contains no preservatives, sucrose, starch, salt, wheat,
yeast, milk, soy derivatives, artificial flavoring or coloring agents.
PHYSICAL
ENERGY SUPPORT
Each serving of REAL ENERGY provides 13 grams of carbohydrate for energy availability.
Fructose and Mannitol, along with natural fruit concentrates, are sources of simple
monosaccharide carbohydrates which may provide fast sources of energy while avoiding
excess production of insulin. In some individuals excess insulin production is associated
with the possible overload phenomenon called "insulin resistance," which may be
a factor in fat retention.
MENTAL
ENERGY SUPPORT
REAL ENERGY contains an abundance of critical amino acids. Among these are the important
neurotransmitters-Phenylalanine, Taurine, Glycine and Tyrosine. Neurotransmission is an
essential chemical component of the process of communication within the brain. To
facilitate optimal neurotransmission is to provide for optimal levels of continuing mental
alertness and mental acuity which we may translate as optimal mental energy. To amplify on
some of the traditional associations which have been made with the following key amino
acids.
PHENYLALANINE - An essential amino acid. May be beneficial in
helping to produce and maintain an elevated and positive mood, alertness and ambition; may
enhance learning and memory; is involved in transmission of signals between nerve cells;
involved in dopamine transmission; may have an affect on reducing appetite.
TAURINE - Amino acid of highest concentration in the body; in
high concentrations in the tissues of the heart, skeletal muscle and central nervous
system. Taurine's actions are not fully understood, but some think it is assocatied with
increased synaptic efficiency.
GLYCINE - Many consider Glycine important as a source of
creatine which is essential for muscle function, breaking down of glycogen and energy; in
building up the immune system, helping to product immunoglobulins and antibodies; and as a
nitrogen pool for the synthesis of non-essential amino acids.
TYROSINE - Important to the adrenal, pituitary and thyroid
glands; may have an affect of elevating mood; used in production of norepinephrine, a
neurotransmitter which may have an inhibitory affect on appetite; used in production of
skin and hair pigments; stimulates release of growth hormone which may be helpful in
muscle growth and utilization of body fat.
CAFFEINE
REAL ENERGY also contains caffeine, equivalent to normal cup of coffee. Caffeine may play
a role in stimulating the "so-called" ß (beta) agonist system, which may have
an affect on releasing and utilizing stored fat, as well as facilitating thermogenesis and
maintaining metabolic rate.
SAINT
JOHN'S WORT
REAL ENERGY also contains Saint John's Wort. Saint John's Wort may be of benefit in adding
a potential relaxing component to the other physical and mental energy components.
DIRECTIONS
Dissolve one rounded scoopful (15 gm) in six to eight ounces of water or juice as a tasty
high energy drink. Use as desired from one to three times per day. Think of REAL ENERGY as
a nutritious replacement for coffee and other non-nutritious beverages.
WARNING:Phenylketonurics-Contains phenylalanine. Not for use
by pregnant or lactating women. Persons taking monamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO) should
only use this product under the supervision of a physician. Contains the amount of
caffeine in a normal cup of coffee, persons sensitive to caffeine should not use.
Excessive use of caffeine or L-Phenylalanine may cause irritability, nervousness or
sleeplessness or rapid heart beat-do not consume more than four servings per day.
